Alpine men's super G race postponed
12:00- Start
The Nagano Olympic men's super giant slalom, scheduled for Sunday morning and delayed three times by stubborn snowstorm in Hakuba, has been called off and rescheduled for Monday. The race, scheduled at the Happo-one slopes in the ski resort village of Hakuba, is tentatively set for 8:45 a.m. with the women's downhill penciled in for 10:15 a.m., followed by the women's combined downhill at 12:15 p.m. Organizers took the unusual step of scheduling three Olympic Alpine races for one day as they scramble to make up for all of the lost time brought about by the persistent bad weather in Hakuba the previous week. In the first eight days of the Olympics, organizers have been able to complete only the men's downhill and Alpine combined as well as the women's super G. Alpine skiing moves to Yamanouchi and the Shiga Kogen highlands Wednesday for the Olympic slalom and giant slalom events. (Kyodo News)
