Curling VenueThe Curling venue for the Nagano Olympics, the curling hall "SCAP Karuizawa" has been completed in Kazakoshi Park, Karuizawa Town, Kitasaku-gun, and a celebration ceremony was held on Nov. 21, 1996. The house markings in red and blue stand out brilliantly on the white ice, and there was much excitement during the commemorative exhibition match played by teams invited from overseas. SCAP Karuizawa is a heated pool from the start of May to mid October, and in winter a hydraulic press is used to raise the pool bottom, and the pool is turned into a curling rink. A Press Center is also planned to be added for the Games. It is the second public curling facility to be built in Japan.
